My Story

Supporting your journey for a more connected life.

My passion for sound and hearing began through music. As a teenager, playing the violin became a trusted language, a way to express emotion, build connection, and experience sound as something deeply human and universal. This love for meaningful connection through sound evolved into a fascination with how we communicate through spoken language and sparked a deep appreciation for how sound shapes our relationships and our place in the world.

That curiousity led me to pursue a double major in Violin Performance and Communication Sciences and Disorders at Minot State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. My academic path continued at  Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where I earned my Doctor of Audiology degree with highest honors, focusing my research on cortical plasticity in the auditory system while working alongside leading experts in hearing and balance science.

I’ve been a licensed and board-certified Audiologist since 2010, with experience spanning clinical diagnostics, hearing aid fittings, hearing science research, and university teaching. But after more than a decade in the field, I started to feel like something was missing from traditional audiology care.

I often saw people delay getting help for their hearing loss, not because they didn’t value their hearing, but because the experience didn’t feel supportive. Appointments were rushed, choices either too limited or too confusing, and the emphasis often seemed more on selling a device than understanding the person. I realized what people needed most was space to ask questions, to feel heard, and to make informed decisions without pressure.

That insight became a turning point and led me to create something different: a practice rooted in attentive listening and collaborative care focused on your story, your needs, and your goals, rather than pushing products. Today, my work is about guiding people through their hearing journey with clarity, compassion, and respect for their individual goals and lifestyle. I go beyond test results and devices in an effort to provide care that feels personal and empowering.

I’m trained in motivational interviewing and approach every conversation with the belief that hearing care should reflect your life, your needs, your relationships, your values. Whether we’re talking about hearing aids, communication strategies, prevention, or simply making sense of new symptoms, my goal is to walk alongside you with expert guidance and no agenda other than your well-being. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore your relationship with hearing, understand your options, and make decisions that align with your life.

What you can expect from working with me:
  • Evidence-based expertise in hearing science and technology
  • A strong belief in the emotional and social dimensions of hearing
  • Deep listening, empathy, and trust
  • A focus on emotional well-being and lifestyle fit
  • Respect for your autonomy and goals
  • Guidance without pressure

Whether you’re exploring hearing loss, hearing aids, prevention, or communication strategies, I am here to help you understand where you are in your journey and walk alongside you toward solutions that truly fit. Taking care of your hearing is part of living a full, connected life. I’d be honored to support you in that journey.

I’m based in Northern California and hold Dispensing Audiology licenses in both California and Washington. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me recharging in one of three places: curled up with a good book, at my sewing machine creating colorful quilts, or out on the trails running through California’s beautiful landscapes with my partner, Joel.

"Hearing care is more than just hearing aids. It's about the deeper meaning of how you connect with sound and the role it plays in your life."
